Dorchester Art Club

The dac is based in the Dorset County Town of Dorchester, in central Southern England. The surrounding area is known for its natural beauty, and for its literary associations with Thomas Hardy and William Barnes. The nearby coast is the first World Heritage Site in England, with many fossils of the Jurassic Age found in the Isle of Purbeck and at Lyme Regis. The building with the clock tower in the centre of the adjoining painting is Dorchester's Town Hall, where the dac holds its Open Exhibitions, and the County Museum, the venue for the Spring Members' Exhibitions, is on the left, in front of the church tower.
