Merlot wine grape

The dark blue Merlot grape was painted in South Island New Zealand.   The grape produces a full bodied smooth wine under its own name but is also used in blended wines.  Grapes grown for wine are not thinned  as desert grapes are to make them bigger.   Giclee print measuring 21 x 30 cm.
